What is the format for the BGIS 2024?

Just like last year, the BGIS will kick off with ‘The Grind’ where top invited teams will get a chance to compete for a spot in the latter stages of the tournament. Simultaneously, Krafton will be running the registrations for the tournament, offering all players a chance to compete in the tournament.

The schedule is as follows:

  • The Grind: April 4 to 28
  • BGIS Qualifier Rounds 2023: May 2 to 26
  • Wildcard Entry: May 30 to June 2
  • Semifinals Week 1: June 4 to 9
  • Semifinals Week 2: June 13 to 16
  • Grand Finals: June 28 to 30

The Grind

The Grind will happen across four weeks with 256 top teams directly invited into the event. These teams will be evenly grouped into 16 groups. The groups will then play three matches over the two weeks.

Following this, Krafton will reshuffle the groups with each team again playing three matches over the next two weeks.

Teams will earn a direct slot into the BGIS Qualifier Rounds based on their cumulative ranking over the four weeks.

  • First to 16th place: BGIS Round 4
  • 17th to 32nd place: BGIS Round 3
  • 33rd to 64th place: BGIS Round 2

What is at stake?

There is a lot at stake in the BGIS 2024 with a total of Rs. 20,000,000 on the line. The champions are set to walk away with Rs. 6,000,000 while the runners-up will get Rs. 2,000,000.

The remaining prize money will be split between the top 16 teams.

While Krafton hasn’t confirmed it yet, fans will be hoping to see the BGIS 2024 Grand Finals happen as an offline event. With the previous edition taking place in Mumbai, India, it remains to be seen where the tournament heads in 2024. Furthermore, players will be hoping for better management after complaints of hacking and cheats in the BGIS 2023.
