DreamStar Mobile Tournament Takes Place in China

Across mobile games, there are quite a few titles that have become incredibly popular. A lot of these titles end up with highly competitive scenes. Casual party games in the vein of Fall Guys aren’t typically one of these though. That makes the DreamStar Mobile tournament quite surprising!

Fall Guys might be better known in the West. However, the cute creatures competing in courses have spawned similar games across the world. Including DreamStar. It’s a Tencent game published only in China at the moment. Compared to Fall Guys, it’s gone further in competitive play too. A DreamStar mobile tournament has just been held.

This new tournament is a far cry from anything we know for competitive Fall Guys. Gameplay for DreamStar can be very similar. It’s also a party game where you run courses. It’s a genre that struggles with competitive events. However, the DreamStar player count is already impressive, even compared to a game like Fall Guys’ player base. Those going for this mobile game can get pretty serious too, playing with a lot of skill.

The recent DreamStar mobile tournament has proven even party games can be taken to the high level. Given the different skills required though, what do pro-level players for a game like this look like? There were some interesting competitors at the DreamStar Mobile Tournament.

DreamStar Mobile Tournament

DreamStar Mobile is a pretty interesting game from Tencent. It has a lot in common with titles like Fall Guys, but with some key differences. It launched late last year and has already built up an impressive following. Visually the game is pretty cutesy, but it has more complexity with different elements to its various maps. Just like Fall Guys, it’s possible to play these more competitively too. As we saw a the DreamStar Mobile tournament, the skill level gets pretty high here.

This new tournament took place only in China. It had an interesting roster of players competing though. Two players were on the older side, at 70 and 68 years old! This might disprove the old myth that only the very young can be mobile esports pros. At least in some games with different skill sets, there’s no upper limit to competitors.
